MEDIA CREDENTIAL POLICY
This policy establishes the guidelines, procedures, and standards for the issuance and use of media credentials for all Baton Rouge Kingfish home games and related team events held at Raising Cane's River Center Arena. It applies to all accredited media personnel, including print, digital, broadcast, radio, photography, and outlets seeking working access to cover the team.
The policy is administered jointly by the Baton Rouge Kingfish and the Raising Cane's River Center. All credential holders are subject to the terms outlined herein and to the venue policies of Raising Cane's River Center.
Media credentials are issued only to working personnel on assignment from a legitimate, recognized media organization. To be considered for accreditation, an outlet must:
- Be a regularly published or broadcast news organization, sports media outlet, or official league/affiliate partner;
- Be actively covering the Baton Rouge Kingfish, the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL), or the local sports market on a recurring basis;
- Submit coverage on a verifiable platform (print, television, radio, established digital site, or recognized social media channel with a demonstrated sports beat).
Credentials are not issued for the following:
- Personal blogs, fan forums, or hobby sites without a professional editorial structure;
- Freelancers without a confirmed assignment letter from an accredited outlet;
- Outlet representatives whose primary purpose is autograph-seeking, souvenir collection, or personal social media content;
- Agents, scouts, or team-affiliated personnel not formally credentialed through the Kingfish Communications Department;
- Political or promotional organizations.
The Kingfish and Raising Cane's River Center reserve the right to deny, revoke, or limit credentials at their sole discretion.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Season-Long Credentials
- Deadline: Applications must be received no later than seven (7) days prior to the home opener (October 16, 2026).
- Submit the completed Media Credential Application form below.
Single-Game Credentials
- Deadline: Requests must be submitted no later than forty-eight (48) hours before puck drop.
- Late requests will be considered only in exceptional circumstances and are subject to availability.
- Submit the completed Media Credential Application form below.
Required Documentation
- When considering your application, you will be asked for a signed assignment letter or email from a supervising editor/producer on official outlet letterhead.
CREDENTIAL USE & CONDUCT
Credential use is a privilege, not a right. All credential holders agree to the following:
Non-Transferable: Credentials are issued to the named individual and may not be transferred, sold, or shared. Misuse results in immediate revocation.
Display Required: Credentials must be visibly worn or carried at all times within Raising Cane's River Center and presented upon request by venue staff, security, or team personnel.
Working Access Only: Credentials grant access only to designated media areas for the purpose of covering the event. They do not constitute a ticket or grant entry to seating areas for personal viewing.
Professional Conduct: Credential holders must conduct themselves professionally. Disruptive, abusive, or intoxicated behavior will result in revocation and removal from the venue.
Respect for the Game: Media must not interfere with play, coaches, officials, or team operations. Rink-side personnel must remain within designated areas at all times.
Children: Media credentials are not issued to minors unless formally accredited by a recognized outlet and accompanied by a credentialed supervisor.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Submission of a credential application constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of this Media Credentialing Policy. By accepting a credential, the holder agrees to abide by all terms and conditions herein and by all applicable Raising Cane's River Center and FPHL policies.
